Back at It, and Smiling

I went cycling today for the first time in . . . . awhile.

It was GREAT! Tony got home from his holiday trip and under his influence I'm back in the game. That guy is such a shining star. I'm totally serious.

Tomorrow morning we're going to the pool!

Feeling good about things overall. I'm going to investigate some other fun ways to exercise and I intend to put yoga back into my life regularly. My friend Leslie and I occasionally go to yoga at this place close to my house (Leslie goes way more than I do). I'm going to investigate some other places too. At least once a week. My body needs to be stretched.

My weak link right now is strength training. I have weights at home but the energy (motivation) is so NOT there. The only gym in BC here is a . . . . darn I'm blanking on the name. One of those chain fitness places that you get a card key to get in 24 hours. It's small but the equipment is GREAT.

May need to eventually go over there. Maybe I can get a free session or something so I can get a feel for what it's like to work out in there. It, also is not far from my house. Nothing is too far here in BC! I have several programs that have both strength and cardio. I really only need the strength since I'll be running, biking and swimming up to the Showdown at Sundown!

After that I'm leaning heavily toward signing up for Iron Girl. Need to make sure that race doesn't conflict with with my work schedule.

Loving this weather right now too. It's in the 60s during the day. UN-BELIEVABLE!

I am committing to two things this first half of my year, running and strength. If I have to skip swimming or cycling, then that is what I'm going to do.

60's that sounds lovely!

You'll figure out how to work in the strength training. For me, that's always the first thing to go but I'm trying really hard to make sure I continue it as I ramp up everything else. I've found making a date with someone, either a friend or my husband will motivate me to do it. Fitness folks always say do the thing you're least likely to do first so I try to do strength in the morning since I know I'll get in the other workouts.

Did I miss something did you move? BC as in British Columbia? I wouldn't imagine it's in the 60's there this time of year.

Showdown at Sundown, is that part of Vineman? I wonder if it's the same course as Barb's (just shorter). If so, you'll have to tell me how it is.

I could so go for some 60's and air that doesn't have to be cut with a knife to move through it...

Glad you're back on the proverbial exercise horse - looking forward to hearing how your season goes!

Can you send me some warm weather--getting desperate here in chicago.

Oops, I also need my coach to tell me to strength train and stretch. I know I should do these things but on my own those things just seem to fall by the wayside.

Glad Tony is back!
